Description

This recipe guides you through making a delicious Pineapple Bacon Burger in the oven with a BBQ twist. It’s a sweet and savory burger experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 slices pineapple, canned or fresh
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Red onion slices

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Form the mixture into four equal patties.
  4. Place bacon slices on a baking sheet lined with foil. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  5. Place pineapple slices on a separate baking sheet. Bake for 5-7 minutes, until slightly caramelized. Remove and set aside.
  6. Place burger patties on the same baking sheet as the pineapple (if space allows, or a new one). Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until cooked to your desired doneness.
  7. During the last 5 minutes of cooking, brush the tops of the patties with BBQ sauce.
  8. Toast the hamburger buns in the oven for 2-3 minutes, if desired.
  9. Assemble the burgers: Place a patty on the bottom bun, top with a slice of pineapple, two slices of crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato, and red onion. Cover with the top bun.

Notes

  • Adjust cooking time for burgers based on thickness and desired doneness.
  • For extra flavor, you can grill the pineapple instead of baking.
  • Feel free to add cheese to your burger during the last few minutes of cooking.
