Ingredients

  • 2 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear salmon, skin-side down, for 4-5 minutes until crispy. Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until cooked through. Remove salmon from skillet.
  4. Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the skillet.
  5. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. Pour in heavy cream, chicken broth, and lemon juice. Stir to combine.
  7. Simmer sauce for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  8. Stir in parsley. Season with salt and pepper.
  9. Return salmon to the skillet and spoon sauce over it.
  10. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a richer sauce, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a touch of heat.
  • Garnish with extra lemon slices or parsley before serving.
