  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced cooked ham
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add warm milk and melted butter. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and roll it into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheese and diced ham evenly over the dough.
  7. Roll up the dough tightly from the long side.
  8. Shape the roll into a ring and pinch the ends to seal.
  9. Place the ring on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  11. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  12. Brush the top of the dough with beaten egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds, if desired.
  13. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  14. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
