Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground meat (beef, pork, or a mix)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Roll the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and brown on all sides. Remove meatballs from the skillet.
  4. Add sliced mushrooms and chopped onion to the skillet. Cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
  6. Pour in beef broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  7. Return meatballs to the skillet. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and cover. Cook for 15-20 minutes, or until meatballs are cooked through.
  8. Stir in heavy cream and heat through.
  9. Serve hot.
